WACE Formula Sheets and Data Booklets (SCSA): Every Course's Official Sheet
Quick answer. Four WACE ATAR courses have a formula sheet or data booklet that SCSA supplies in the exam: Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics Methods and Mathematics Specialist. Each one prints results to quote, not methods, and each leaves out things you have to know. The table below links our guide to each sheet.
This page describes the 2026 sheets. SCSA marks the Chemistry, Methods and Specialist sheets as valid for teaching and examining until 31 December 2026, and the Physics booklet prints the year but no validity date, so check that the edition you practise with matches your exam year.
The four sheets
| Course | The sheet | Where it is used | Our guide |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chemistry | Data booklet, eight pages: six formulas, constants, solubility rules, colours, amino acids and standard reduction potentials | Supplied with the exam | WACE Chemistry data booklet |
| Physics | Formulae and Data Booklet, eight pages: the relationships for every Year 12 topic, plus data, constants and conversions | Supplied with the exam | WACE Physics formula sheet |
| Mathematics Methods | Formula sheet, four pages: calculus rules, mensuration, logarithm laws and probability | Both sections, including Calculator-free | WACE Methods formula sheet |
| Mathematics Specialist | Formula sheet, eight pages: calculus, vectors, complex numbers, trigonometry and statistical inference | Both sections, including Calculator-free | WACE Specialist formula sheet |
How to use them
- Open the official sheet while you practise. SCSA's copyright means our guides describe each sheet without reproducing it, so print the official PDF from the guide you are reading and work from that.
- Learn what is missing before the exam. The gaps are where marks go, especially in Section One of the maths exams, where you have no calculator and no notes.
- Read the exam guide for the format. The WACE Chemistry exam guide and the WACE Methods exam guide cover the sections, timing and marking. For dates and what you can bring, see the WACE exam timetable.
- Practise on real questions. Marked SCSA questions are on the WACE past exams page, and your course page is a faster way in: Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics Methods and Mathematics Specialist.
Frequently asked questions
Which WACE exams give you a formula sheet or data booklet?
We have guides to four: the Chemistry data booklet, the Physics Formulae and Data Booklet, the Mathematics Methods formula sheet and the Mathematics Specialist formula sheet. In each case SCSA supplies the document in the exam, so you do not bring it. Check your own course's examination design brief for what applies to other courses.
Do the WACE formula sheets cover everything you need?
No. Each sheet prints results to quote, not methods, and each leaves things out that you have to know. Chemistry's booklet prints only six formulas, for example, and the Methods sheet does not print the sine and cosine rules. Our guide to each sheet lists what is and is not on it.
